African-American Heritage Tour

Tour includes stops at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Historic Center and the Atlanta University Campus. Also included is the story of the rise of Atlanta's African-American community into a politically dynamic force that implemented many social and economic changes into the previously segregated city.

The basic four-hour tour also includes a ride around the Downtown area with views of Underground Atlanta and the city's sporting arenas. Extended tours from five to eight hours include a stop for lunch at a leading African-American restaurant and additional time at the MLK Center. Also included in the extended tour is a stop at the Herndon House, (admission fee required) Atlanta's first African-American millionaire, and a drive through the neighborhoods where many of Atlanta's African-Americans grew up or live now.
